INDONESIA
What We've Done
Meaningful Work
One of the charity's first projects was to build an orphanage for children who had lost their parents to the Tsunami in Indonesia. We are happy to have completed this in 2007.
After our first projects completion, we set out to build a mosque for the children. We committed to the task in 2013 and completed it in 2015.
Chariots for Children Charity set out to give aid the Rohingya refugees who are fleeing the genocide. We continue to raise money in order to help create better lives for those who are suffering.
We wanted to continue our work to better the lives of those in the orphanage, we committed to building a water tank, toilet and communal bath which we are happy to announce has been completed in 2018.
Lombok Earthquake Aid
In August 2018 a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit Lombok killing and injuring 1000s. We continue to do work to help the many orphans of this tragedy
What We're Doing
Our current focus for the orphanage is creating a more sustainable plan for the future of the children.
Our goal is to help create a farm capable of growing crops like bananas, mangoes, dragon fruit and later housing some livestock. They crops won't just be for the children's health daily good, but they can also sell them in the local market, giving them valuable education and work experience.
Launched: Saturday 28 January 2023
Current News: The compound is surrounded by woods and valleys so there are lots of wild boars in the area. So it's first necessary to build a perimeter wall and fences to keep boars away from the crops.
Materials required: Construction river stones, cement, sand, metal fences plus labour
Total cost: £5,690
Sports are so much more than a physical activity for children. They can play an important role in overall growth and development. It is both beneficial for mental and physical well-being. Not only can sports help to strengthen bones and tone muscles, but they can also help children improve their academic performance and teach them the value of teamwork. Sports are also enjoyable and sociable!
We plan to build a sport facility in our compound: two courts for Basket and Volleyball, and another court for Tennis and Badminton court.
Current News:
We have already built the foundation and we are ready to complete by adding the paving blocks.
The sports facility will measure about 1.050m2 in total
The materials we need are sand, paving blocks and labour.
Total cost: £5,850
