Indonesia tsunami: Building sustainability for the survivors

Creating a sustainable future for those in need is far better than creating dependents. So with your vital help we will be able to give them a chance to live independent lives.

We'll be providing the necessary equipment to build a farm, and the education needed to turn it into a viable income source.

How we got started

Circa 1998 Nizma Scoffield went to see for herself the civil unrest and conflict in Indonesia, she began the charity ICR in 2002 to help the children affected by the conflicts. In 2004 the biggest tsunami the world has seen hit. ICR helped the vulnerable children until it was clear the local partners were self-sustainable, then ICR closed in 2008. However Nizma  wanted to reach far more of the world, so Chariots for Children was opened with the goal to rescue vulnerable children around the world.
